Ripped straight from the incendiary text from Marquis de Sade, PHILOSOPHY IN THE BOUDOIR is a performance installation that plays on the ambiguous relationship  between pleasure, sex, violence, savagery and power. The words of de Sade are reanimated during a last supper of sorts, creating a dissociation between action and context. As the performers devour, consume, demolish what’s in front of them, while speaking fragments of the pornographic text, we realize that they’re sending a transmission, a profane recording of their terminal hours together. In this work we investigate the politics of desire and censorship and our personal obscenity. Through found objects, ferocious movement and a hallucinatory soundscape, the audience is assailed with the question: how open minded do you think you are.
